Johnson Screens Reports All Employees Safe Following Jones Road Wildfire Near Forked River Facility – Updated

Update April 24, 2025: As of this morning, Johnson Screens’ Forked River facility has resumed full operations. All employees remain safe, and there was no disruption to PVC product manufacturing, thanks to contingency support from our Bakersfield site. We remain committed to supporting the local community as recovery efforts continue.

Forked River, NJ – Johnson Screens confirms that all employees are safe and its Forked River facility remains undamaged following the outbreak of the Jones Road Fire in Ocean County, New Jersey, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

The wildfire, which began near the Barnegat-Waretown municipal boundary shortly after 10:00 a.m., moved northward into the Lacey area and prompted the precautionary evacuation of the Johnson Screens facility located in Forked River.

“We are relieved and grateful to report that all of our team members are safe,” said Craig Benson, Water Wells Global Business Unit Director at Johnson Screens. “The safety of our employees and the community is our top priority, and we’re thankful for the swift action of local emergency responders.”

While there has been no physical damage to the facility, operations have been temporarily suspended due to regional power outages and ongoing safety measures. Johnson Screens is working closely with local authorities and emergency services to monitor the situation and determine the appropriate time to safely resume activities at the site, which is expected to happen very soon.

To ensure continuity of service and minimize disruption, the company has activated its contingency plan and is leveraging manufacturing capacity at its Bakersfield, California facility. This enables Johnson Screens to continue fulfilling orders and supporting customer needs while operations at Forked River remain paused.
